This Family is a private home for your family tree, your stories and photos, and your conversations, made for everyone from toddlers to great-grandparents.
We're in early testing with our own family and letting families in a few at a time. Apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and the web are on the way.

Everyone sees the family from their own place in it: parents and grandparents up the branches, children and grandchildren below, and the relatives who came before shining softly among them.

Stories that outlast us
Save photos, videos, recordings and written memories, and tag the people in them. Grandparents can tell a story out loud instead of typing it.

Stay close between visits
Chat, send voice messages, and make video calls with the relatives you choose, all in one private place.

A simple Easy mode with big buttons for grandparents, a separate kids experience with parent controls, and the full app for everyone else.

Everyone in This Family has a friendly guide who explains things along the way and cheers when someone new joins the family. One is picked for you, and you can switch any time.

How it works

A relative invites you
This Family is invite-only. A family member adds you to the tree and sends you an invitation link, by email or from their own phone.

You sign in
Open the invitation and sign in with a one-time code sent by email or text message, or with Apple or Google. There is no password to remember.

You find your place
Your invitation already knows where you belong in the tree. Confirm the relationship, choose what each relative can see, and start exploring.
Sign-in codes by text message
If you choose to sign in with your phone number, we text a one-time code to the number on your invitation or account. We only send a code when you ask for one, and we never send marketing texts. Next to the Text me a code button you'll see:
"We'll text you a sign-in code. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."

Your family's privacy comes first
- We never sell your information or show ads.
- You decide which relatives see each part of your profile.
- Children under 13 use parent-managed profiles and can only talk with contacts their parents approve.
- Location data is removed from every photo and video you upload.
- You can download everything you shared, or delete your account, at any time.
